We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and processing your personal data
with transparency and in accordance with applicable regulations.
This Privacy Policy explains how we, « Lunar Phase »
(hereinafter « We »), collect, use, disclose, and protect the information
you provide to us
when you use our application « Lunar Phase » (hereinafter
the « Application »).
1. Information Collection
We collect the following types of information:
A. Automatically Collected Information (Technical Execution Data)
This data is necessary for the proper functioning of the Application and is not stored on
our servers.
- Regional Settings (Language and Country): Used to display the Application in your preferred
language and adapt regional formats.
B. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
This data is stored only on your own device (phone, tablet, etc.) and is never transmitted to our
servers.
- Preferences: Stored locally if you choose to save them, including:
- The Last Used Location (latitude, longitude, timezone, city and country).
- Your Favorite Locations (same data as the Last Location).
- The View Display Configuration.
- The Distance Unit.
- The Azimuth Reference.
- The Data Display Configuration.
C. Remote Configuration Information (Remote Config)
This data is retrieved from our servers (or the third-party service used for hosting this
configuration)
in the form of a JSON file to determine the active features and service providers within the
Application.
- Nature of data collected: Keys/Values of service configuration (e.g.,
"feature.service.geocoding.enabled", "feature.service.places.enabled",
"feature.service.map.provider"). This data is technical and does not contain any directly
identifying information about you.
- Configuration Data: Cached locally on your device (in the same way as your Preferences) to
ensure quick startup and offline use.
D. Information Collected with Your Explicit Consent (Location Data)
We only collect or use this information after obtaining your explicit consent via your operating
system's permissions.
- Precise Location (latitude, longitude, city and country):
- Usage: Only used during the execution of the Application to calculate and display
precise lunar phases and rise/set times.
- Storage: If you enable the function to memorize the « Last Location »
in the Preferences, this data is stored locally on your device.
2. Use of Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes (The legal basis for processing this
data
is the execution of the contract between Us and the user for the provision of the Application's
services):
- Application Functionality: To provide the core services of « Lunar Phase »,
including
the precise calculation of astronomical data.
- Service and Feature Management: Remote configuration information is used to enable, disable,
or select the service provider (e.g., for maps or place search) necessary for the
Application's operation.
- User Experience Personalization: To adapt the display and content based on your Preferences
and Location.
- Widget Functionality: To display accurate data on your home screen widgets, the Application requires the "Last Used Location" to be saved in your Preferences. This allows the widget to refresh astronomical calculations without needing to open the main Application.
- Personalized Advertising: To display relevant advertisements via Google AdMob
(see
Section 4).
3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We are committed to not selling, trading, or renting your personal information to third
parties.
Your locally stored data (Preferences, Last Location) is not shared because it does not leave
your device.
Remote Configuration Data is not personal data and is used solely by the Application for
technical reasons.
We may disclose information:
- To third-party service providers: Only those described in Section 4 (Third-Party Services), who
process data on our behalf.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to
comply with a legal obligation.

5. Data Retention
- Local Data: Your preferences, last location, and cached configuration are
stored exclusively on your device. They are retained until you modify them, delete them via
the Application settings, or uninstall the Application.

6. Your Rights
In accordance with applicable regulations, you have rights regarding your
personal data. Since the Application operates locally, the exercise of these
rights has the following characteristics:
- Right of Access and Rectification: As your data is stored on your device,
you can access and modify it directly within the Application's settings menus.
- Right to Erasure (« Right to be Forgotten »):
- For local data, erasure is performed by you by resetting preferences within the
Application or by uninstalling it.
- For data held by third parties, you must exercise this right directly with the
relevant providers (see Section 4).

the processing of your data (such as for personalized advertising), you have the right to

your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking").
- Right to Object and Restriction: Certain third-party services (GeoNames, Firebase Hosting) are technically essential for the Application to function. If you object to the technical data exchange required by these services, the only way to exercise this right is to stop using the Application and uninstall it.
- Right to Data Portability: Since your data is stored locally on your own
device, you are already in physical possession of it.
Important Note: Because we do not store any of your personal data on our own
servers, it is technically impossible for us to identify, access, or delete the data located
inside your device on your behalf. For any questions, please contact us at the address below.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data
against
unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Given that most of your data
(Preferences, Location, Cached Remote Configuration) is stored locally, its security also
depends on the security protections
of your device.
8. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy. We will inform you of any significant changes
by
publishing the new policy on this page and changing the « Last updated »
date. We advise you to periodically review this Policy to be aware of any modifications.
